RCAD'TOUCH

RCad'Touch is an application that allows users to visualize and manipulate a project created with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software in virtual and augmented reality. Our augmented reality innovation combines the use of a stylus to compare the project as a hologram with the real environment (e.g., real-time measurements) with a visual representation that takes this same environment into account (e.g., hologram occlusion based on surrounding objects). Finally, our innovation allows users to leverage the information contained in the CAD file, providing real-time assistance with their actions (e.g., taking measurements between invisible elements, such as the axis of a hole). The innovation created by these 3 technical advances makes it easier for users to manipulate the system and improves the interaction of a 3D project with its environment from the design phase onwards, thus minimizing prototyping and development time, reducing errors and improving the involvement of all stakeholders in a project.
