The state of the art in industrial plant automation typically relies on two architectures—either distributing RTUs in the field or centralising all wiring and signal-management devices into one or more PLCs within a control cabinet. While both approaches are well established, they introduce complexity in terms of scalability, interoperability, and communications management. STARFISH is designed to optimise interaction and data management across all elements, overcoming the limitations of traditional automation models and enabling greater flexibility and operational efficiency. In addition, STARFISH enables in-house configuration of Neural Networks that can be applied at every level of the production plant (from Cloud to sensors) to drive digital efficiency, while safeguarding and concretely embedding individual operators’ know-how into the process.
