The high measurement precision of Mitutoyo products is based on more than 600 exclusive techniques. While the majority of them are mechanized and standardized to remove dependence on specialized workers, some require exceptional individual skills. Mitutoyo's know-how is a guarantee of quality. When checking a surface, only a master craftsman is capable of detecting the smallest imperfection and rectify to achieve an inaccessible straightness with a machine. Building on Mitutoyo's techniques and heritage, our master craftsmen, or “Takumi”, have managed to put developed the most advanced measuring machine. High stiffness and properties exceptional anti-vibration improve measurement accuracy by scanning. We have achieved an unrivaled level of precision by completely eliminating dynamic error factors, such as deformation, vibration and oscillation which may occur during the sliding movement, and by adopting a very high precision measuring unit developed and manufactured in-house. To achieve very high accuracy with a CMM, it is important not only to optimize the performance of the unit main, but also to reduce uncertainty during inspections. The LEGEX Takumi model uses a low expansion ceramic parallel wedge allowing for world-class precision.
