Novelties
Information
The PacHP-SF servo drive for the control of brushless motors completes the PacHP range
with motion safety functions monitoring the motor behaviour. These functions ensure
the protection of operator and machine against uncontrolled and dangerous movements.
The SF01 safety board is available with the
-XtrapulsPacHP-ed (EtherCAT bus),
-XtrapulsPacHP-kd (CANopen bus) servo drive versions.
The drive range XtrapulsPacHP
➢ The STO function SIL3 is available as standard and can be used without the safety board.
➢ Two inputs STO1\, STO2\ are available for the STO function activation. This allows switching off the motor torque in
a safe way without switching off the drive power supply.
➢ A logic output giving the status of the STO activation can be configured in the drive. This general-purpose output is
not safety certified.
The safety board
➢ Advanced safety functions:
- SS1 (Safe Stop 1) SIL2: starts a monitored deceleration and switches off the motor torque (STO).
- SS2 (Safe Stop 2) SIL2: starts a monitored deceleration and monitors the standstill position (SOS).
- SOS (Safe Operating Stop) SIL2: monitoring of the standstill position.
- SLS (Safely-Limited Speed) SIL2: the motor speed is monitored according to predefined limits.
- SDI (Safe Direction) SIL2:
o SDIn allows a movement in the negative direction.
o SDIp allows a movement in the positive direction.
- SBC (Safe Brake Control) SIL2: provides a safe brake output.
➢ The trajectory monitoring is made according to the safe position sensor (Hiperface DSL encoder) mounted on the
motor shaft. A second position sensor is not necessary.
➢ The STO function is activated in case of monitoring trajectory error.
➢ Each safety function is activated by two inputs channels (A and B).
➢ Two safe 24V supply outputs (A and B) with test pulses are available for the inputs activation.
These 24V supply outputs with test pulses allow the short-circuit detection between both safety input channels (A
and B).
➢ Three safety function status outputs are available. These outputs are not safety certified
The SF02 safety board is available with the
-XtrapulsPacHP-et (EtherCAT bus),
-XtrapulsPacHP-ak (CANopen bus),
-XtrapulsPacHP-pn (PROFINET bus) servo drive versions.
The safety board option SF02
➢ Advanced safety functions:
- SS1 (Safe Stop 1) SIL2: starts a monitored deceleration and switches off the motor torque (STO).
- SS2 (Safe Stop 2) SIL2: starts a monitored deceleration and monitors the standstill position (SOS).
- SOS (Safe Operating Stop) SIL2: monitoring of the standstill position.
- SLS (Safely-Limited Speed) SIL2: the motor speed is monitored according to predefined limits.
- SLP (Safely-Limited Position): The machine absolute position is monitored according to predefined limits.
- SPR (Safe Position Referencing): The machine absolute position is initialized with a predefined position reference.
- SDI (Safe Direction) SIL2:
o SDIn allows a movement in the negative direction.
o SDIp allows a movement in the positive direction.
- SBC (Safe Brake Control) SIL2: provides a safe brake output.
➢ The trajectory monitoring is made according to the position sensor (resolver) mounted on the motor shaft. A second
position sensor is not necessary.
➢ The STO function is activated in case of monitoring trajectory error.
➢ Each safety function can be setup to be controlled by one of the 6 dual-channels safety inputs, or by the Safety bus,
or can be disabled.
➢ Two safe 24V supply outputs (A and B) with test pulses are available for the safety inputs. These 24V supply outputs
with test pulses allow the short-circuit detection between both safety input channels (A and B).
➢ Three status outputs are available to reflect the state of activation of a safety function. These outputs are not safety
certified
