"Manufacturers look to move to IIoT to increase productivity"
Monitoring industrial equipment can be difficult. End users may not have access to the APIs that contain data or be willing to risk modifying these systems. Machine components, such as sensors, rarely speak the same language. This becomes a real challenge when a manufacturer wants to start monitoring their equipment to better understand machine performance.
Snap Signal products can be used to create a brand-independent IIoT platform consisting of modular hardware and software. The system can capture and convert machine signals and protocols, such as Modbus, analogue, On/Off, serial or IO-Link, among others.
A Snap Signal platform can capture status and process monitoring data from existing devices such as sensors, motor controllers and light columns using a splitter connection to monitor the signals. When this is the case, it is called an 'overlay network', which means that signals are captured without disrupting the existing control infrastructure, reducing both deployment time and overall risk.
