Information
With the world's first PLc-certified 3D camera based on time-of-flight technology for safety, SICK sets a new milestone as a leading provider of innovative sensor technologies.
The safeVisionary2 makes three-dimensional perception of the environment possible for advanced safety concepts. Conventional solutions such as safety scanners only allow 2-D perception. These sensors detect the approach of an operator or a body part into a danger zone. The objective of these sensors is to detect a person early enough to stop the hazardous event. By using 3D perception, safety distances can be potentially reduced as the possibility of bypassing is reduced. It also solves applications where the addition of multiple 2D sensors would make safeguarding expensive or impossible.
In addition, safeVisionary2 makes the distance measurement point cloud available to surrounding objects. This allows an autonomous vehicle to avoid collisions or navigate efficiently, for example.

Argument
