FLOTT [felix] 2.0 machine vice

Invented by Felix Röwekamper, the patented FLOTT [felix] drilling vice was awarded first prize in the prestigious Deutsche Arbeitsschutzpreis (German Occupational Safety Award) in November 2019, but its industrialisation by the manufacturer ARNZ FLOTT GmbH had to be delayed due to the Covid pandemic. It has an integrated clamping mechanism that allows operators to clamp it with a single hand movement using a clamping rail at its base attached to a T-nut in a machine table slot. This allows the vice to slide freely in any position along the slot. To lock it in place and hold it securely, simply tighten a hexagon head screw on the front of the vice. The clamping rail lifts up and the T-nut is then firmly fixed in the groove. No additional clamping device is required. This mechanism also prevents clockwise rotation of the vice as the T-nut fixing screw automatically tightens if not sufficiently tightened, and any risk of the vice lifting or tilting, making drilling operations very safe. With such a short set-up time and fast clamping, the operator can save up to 95% of time compared to conventional drilling vices and thus increase productivity. The [felix] 2.0 is available in 4 models with widths of 80 - 100 - 120 and 150 mm.
